Available Dogs

Josie

Hi everyone,  I'm Josie (short for Josephine) and I'm about a year and a half old. I know it's hard to believe someone as cute and cuddly as I am needs a new home, but it's true. Someone in my old home was allergic to me so I am now with a foster. It's a totally cool place with lots of dogs (I really like other dogs and must have one in my new home). No accidents in the house with me, and I am also crate trained.  I was a little afraid of riding in the car, and other strange things, but with another confident dog I have learned not to be. I also get along with cats and would be ok with older kids – big enough I wouldn't accidently knock them down. My leash walking is a work in progress and improving. My coat was not in good condition so I look a little like a lab, but it is growing now that I have the right nutrition and my foster mom says its very soft. I guess that's a good thing. An experienced family with a slightly older dog who can continue helping me learn to be brave and still young enough to play would be great. Or more than one dog is good too. I love people and snuggling too. I just heard my foster mom say I am perfect.  Want to know more about me?  Contact placement@sagrr.org.

Pending Adoption

All dogs listed as adoption pending have been placed with prospective adopters. Our policy is to allow our adopters a period of time to make sure all is well before we finalize the adoption. Sometimes dogs have medical or behavioral issues that require treatment and the adoptions are not finalized until the treatment is finished. On rare occasions a dog may not work in a family. Should that happen, it will be moved back to the available dogs section.

Sadie

Looking for a sweet, friendly youngster?  That would be ME, Sadie.  I am
only 8-9 months old and I am mature beyond my months. When my fosters picked
me up at the shelter I was very scared, but it took only a day or two to
figure out that I am safe and secure again. I am housebroken, working on my
leash walking but pretty good already, learning all the basics and they say
I am a quick learner.  I love all the people and dogs I have met, I even
liked the vet. haha.  I don't have much experience in a car and it makes my
tummy hurt, but I'm learning to relax there too. I will  do well with other
dogs, cats are unknown, pocket pets and birds are a big NO for me, but
everyone has some sort of flaw. I'm also not all  Golden, most likely I have
some Great Pyrenes ancestors too. My adult coat is just starting to appear
but I was told I was going to be a looker whatever that is.

Stout

Did you stop and say – what???? – when you saw my picture? What is this boy doing on a golden retriever website? We need answers!

Here’s my story. This beautiful golden is my mom who was pregnant when she was rescued from the streets of Mexico. All those puppies – well I’m one of them but hard to tell which one. That was 3 ½ years ago and I have been living with a family who took good care of me and loved me – but now they had to go back to work and they are gone a really long time. So I need to find a family who has more time for me. Everyone is sad, but they told me that the nice rescue people would find me a great home. (Note: SAGRR always takes back any dog you adopt from us).

So here I am, I’m about 50 lbs, – nobody knows who my dad was but he must have been little, some of my littermates are golden size and some of us ended up little like me. That is a plus cause I fit in places where a big dog doesn’t, and I don’t eat as much either. I’m good with people, dogs, cats are unknown but it might work. I am crate trained, housebroken and know my basic commands. I also walk nicely with a gentle leader. I am good with older children (not toddlers).

Oso

Hi folks, my name is Oso and I am anything but a bear, hahaha. I'm about 45 lbs and I love people and dogs. I did meet some cats but they ran away, so of course I ran after them trying to play but nope, it didn't work. So - I am looking for a home without cats or other small animals would be best. I really, really, love to swim so if you have a pool it would be wonderful but if not, I hope you know someone who does. As you can see, I am totally adorable, but I am young and energetic so keep that in mind. I'm just the right age (15 months) to learn all about being an adult and I have a headstart on it. I'm well housebroken and crate trained, but of course I need some help containing my enthusiasm on a leash. I love car rides and don't get car sick, and I'm healthy. If you don't mind helping me learn all the stuff adult dogs need to be good at - I could be the dog of your dreams. Contact placement@sagrr.org to find out all about me.
